Zappy Bird is an event in Jetpack Joyride that first ran from December 9-14, 2015 as part of a Christmas update.
Gameplay[]
During the event, Barry Steakfries wears the Flight Outfit (replaced with Roasted Turkey Costume in the November 2020 rerun) and starts with Profit Bird. The Traditional Jetpack also appears on its display but Barry doesn't pick it up since he starts in the vehicle. The player's goal is to fly as far as possible while dodging Zappers and missiles, placed around 30-50 meters apart. For each section of obstacles Profit Bird flies past the player will receive a point, which are used to unlock the rewards. Touching any obstacle results in Barry being instantly KO'd, while using Quick Revives instantly gives him Profit Bird again. Missions and gadgets are disabled in the event.
During the event, the theme from the Robot Bird Rock Opera plays in the background, with the first verse sang by Barry kept intact, and the rest of the song being an instrumental version. When KO'd, the outro "I GOT A ROBOT BIRD THAT SHOOTS MONEY!" plays.

Trivia[]
- The event is a reference to Flappy Bird, another successful mobile game, released in 2014. The bird in that game coincidentally controls very similarly to Profit Bird, which itself debuted 3 years prior.
- During the event, most of the Zappers are placed similarly to Flappy Bird's green pipes.
- This event's name is a portmanteau of Zapper, one of the obstacles, and Flappy Bird.
- This is one of two events to have a Game Over theme, the other being Back to the Future.
